To ensure learning is deeply rooted in place, and creates both local and national insights, the learning framework is centred around the activity of each of the LocalMotion places as shown in Figure 5 below.

We focus on two kinds of learning: embodied learning and integrated learning, with the latter building on the former. The learning framework is guided by the four key LocalMotion questions:

  1. What are we learning through the work?
  2. What patterns are we observing from the work?
  3. How can we adapt and grow from what we’ve learned and what do we need to do so?
  4. How do we share and amplify our learning to create impact?

Embodied Learning

Using the activity in place as the starting point for learning creates a clear and accessible focus for learning

Integrated Learning

Ensuring that insights from local action feed directly into collective thinking and decision-making
