LocalMotion brings together six communities and five major funding organisations to support community led action. Together we create spaces and networks for connection and collaboration that create powerful, lasting change in how things are done.

Our vision

To reimagine how communities, systems and funders can work together more equitably, more effectively, and more inclusively so that people can thrive, now and in the future.

We believe that with imagination, courage and deep collaboration, lasting change is not only possible – it is already happening.

We know that there are different priorities, complex histories, and old habits for us all to unlearn in this work.

With this in mind we believe that deeper relationships create the space for deeper, more lasting change. That is why we build trust, care and co-creation into all that we do. We know that we might not always get things ‘right’ first-time, so we’re experimental by design, reflecting and adapting as we go.

Our mission

To make this vision real, we focus on:

  • Resource shifting – we support and grow local leadership and the space to generate transformation.
  • Power sharing – we put decision-making in community hands and create connections for learning and action to flow within and across places and funders.
